Since 1953, iF International Forum Design has invited international manufacturers and designers to enter their products in the iF Product Design Awards. Design experts from all over the world come together to evaluate product entries that exemplify design excellence. Judging criteria for the product entries include choice of materials, finish, degree of innovation, environmental impact and design quality.
After a thorough review by an international panel of judges, the VITA VACUMAT New Generation firing system was awarded the 2011 iF product design award. The new system was awarded the internationally renowned quality seal for its outstanding compact, ergonomic design and many beneficial features. The VITA VACUMAT New Generation firing system more than met the jury’s criteria, demonstrating excellence in functionality, ergonomics and safety. The members of the jury were also impressed with its modular construction, which enables the user to configure their own individual firing system.
Created by the internationally renowned Meyer-Hayoz Design Engineering Group, the VITA VACUMAT New Generation firing system features a user-friendly control system with an 8.5 inch color touch screen, called the VITA vPad. The control unit is available in three different types and features 1000 freely definable firing programs. In addition, firing data can be stored to support the user’s quality management. Another useful feature that was recognized is the option to create user accounts or profiles, which can be write protected, if required, and include individual programs and settings.
